NCR Corp. has obtained grocery e-commerce issuer Freshop and plans to combine it into its business POS utility platform.
The movement will provide sellers, especially regional and small grocery chains, the means to right now installation “buy-online, pickup-in-store” capabilities to serve their shoppers’ needs at once, according to a statement.
“As we continue to expand NCR’s application and features-led offerings, the addition of Freshop to our retail platform creates more value for our shoppers and new capabilities for NCR to run the store,” Michael D. Hayford, NCR president and CEO, talked about in the release.
NCR estimates buy-on-line, pickup-in-save e-commerce will grow through 25% per 12 months via 2025. With Freshop, NCR can aid grocers capitalize on the boom in e-commerce going forward.
Freshop’s e-commerce capabilities will turn into a part of NCR’s subsequent-era retail shop structure, including NCR Emerald, which provides retailers the skill to simplify store operations and introduce future improvements in a fraction of the time and price.
